Some very smart typography from Brooklyn, NY artist Jessica Hische and a lot of cool design illustration and design work featuring hand-lettered text as a component part of the overall package.
I particularly like the feel of the example above, originally produced as an illustration for a magazine article; there's a real mix of styles but it all hangs together perfectly.
I really like Mark Todd's reimagined/deconstructed/reconstructed (delete as appropriate or add your own descriptive) comic book covers. They're deceptively simple with (very literal) layers combining to create the images, along with handwritten text/titles. They're pretty cool. I'd definitely buy more superhero comics if they were wrapped up like this.
